CANCELED due to high winds.
Our Moon will be only a 4.4–day old thin crescent after the New Moon, with plenty of details visible along the terminator. It will be close to the western horizon by 11:00 PM.
The Pleiades star cluster puts in an appearance very close to the Moon. By next month, it will be disappearing into the sunset and won't be visible until next Winter.
Bright Venus will be easy to see, with nearby mag. 5.8 Uranus possible in our scopes as a pale, blue dot. Showpiece planets Jupiter and Saturn are too close to the Sun to see, but Mars will be overhead.
