Our Moon will be an 8.5–day old, almost perfect First Quarter Moon (meaning one-quarter of the way past New Moon), with plenty of details visible along the terminator. Bright planets Mars and Venus are also visible.
As the days lengthen, we're starting later in our quest for a dark sky. By 11 PM, the Summer Triangle of bright stars Vega, Deneb, and Altair will be rising in the East along with constellation Cygnus the swan.
