Highlights tonight include Saturn and its rings, and an 11–day old Quarter Moon.
Saturn finally returns to our evening sky after a long absence and will be high enough for good views.
Saturday is 2 days after the First Quarter Moon (10.7 days past New Moon). The terminator – the line between dark and light – bisects the visible surface to the West. Near this line of sunrise on the Moon we will see many details on the surface in the zone between shadows and light.
The Summer Triangle of bright stars Vega, Altair, and Deneb shines straight overhead.
