Star Party – Public Telescope Viewing

Open to the public – all ages welcome!

  • Saturday, October 16 starting 7:00 PM (sunset is 6:13)

Members of CLAS will set up telescopes for public viewing beginning 7:30 PM near the astronomy domes at Maturango.

Jupiter and Saturn are in excellent positions for viewing in October. Neptune, a more challenging target, will also be overhead, and perhaps we can find it in our scopes if conditions are good.

The rising Moon will be half-way between First quarter and Full. It will be 10.7 days old and 88% illuminated, offering nice views and details along the lunar terminator, the division between light and dark.

If you have binoculars, bring them!

Let’s hope for clear skies!
