Star Party – Public Telescope Viewing

Open to the public – all ages welcome!

  • Saturday, November 13 starting 5:30 PM (sunset is 4:45)

Members of CLAS will set up telescopes for public viewing beginning 5:30 PM near the astronomy domes at Maturango.

Jupiter and Saturn are in excellent positions for viewing in November. Neptune and Uranus, more challenging targets, will also be overhead, and perhaps we can find it in our scopes if conditions are good.

Super-bright Venus disappears behind the mountains around 5:00, so come early if you want to glimpse her.

The Moon will be two days past First quarter, at 9.2 days old and 75% illuminated, offering nice views and details along the lunar terminator.

If you have binoculars, bring them!

Let’s hope for clear skies!
